Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Southern Eye Care Associates the leading provider of vision care products and services in Valrico.


Mona Kardani, O.D., FAAO

Dr. Kardani, a native of Tampa, FL, graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at King High school in Tampa. She then attended the University of Florida and graduated with Cum Laude and a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. She received her Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.She completed internship training at NSU in contact lenses, pediatrics and binocular vision, and geriatrics and low vision. Dr. Kardani’s clinical skills were further enhanced by externships in at MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa and at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. She then went on to complete a residency in primary care at the WG Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina, where she had extensive training in the treatment and management for eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, hypertension, and macular degeneration. Following her residency, she gained Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry and is an active member of the American Optometry Association, Florida Optometry Association, and Hillsborough Society of Optometrists.


Dr. Branning Hollis, O.D.

Dr. Hollis, a native of Columbus, GA, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Columbus State University. He received his doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. During his training Dr. Hollis completed his externship at Clayton Eye Center in Morrow, GA. There he had extensive training with the treatment and management of ocular diseases, as well as managing pre and post operative cataract patients. After graduating from NSU Dr. Hollis then went on to work with an Ophthalmologist in a private practice setting where he co-managed pre and post operative patients with refractive surgery (including LASIK, LASEK, PRK, and CK) and surgical complications. He also became skilled in the fitting of speciality contact lenses. Dr. Hollis is an active member of the American Optometry Association, Florida Optometry Association, and Hillsborough Society of Optometrists.


Dr. Sheree Wright

Dr. Sheree Wright is a residency-trained optometric physician who specializes in family practice. She is a California native who received her undergraduate degree, a B.S. in Biology at the University of California, Riverside. She completed optometry school with honors from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona. She went on to the east coast for residency training in pediatrics, vision therapy and rehabilitation at State University of New York, State College of Optometry. In her spare time she enjoys reading, running, boating and spending time with her family and her dogs.


Molly Cannon

Molly has been a Brandon resident for 45 years and alumnus of Brandon High School. She completed the Opticianary program at the Miami-Dade Community College in Miami, FL. She began her career as a licensed optician in Hollywood, FL and since then has had over 33 years of experience, including store and district manager of several different optical establishments in Florida. As Southern Eye Care’s office manager, Molly is involved in assisting our patients choose the right lenses and frames for their individual needs and is involved in the fabrication of eyeglasses.


Cathy Darling

Cathy has been a resident of the Brandon community for 45 years and alumnus of Brandon High School. She graduated from the Opticianry program at Hillsborough Community College in 1986. She has been working as a licensed optician in the Brandon community for the past 28 years. She enjoys giving back to the community by helping people look and see their best.
